The SABRE 5000 is the smallest, lightest, three-mode portable detector for detecting traces of explosives, chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals, and narcotics. Its ability to detect a wide range of hazards makes it a cost-effective tool for security agencies and military departments requiring flexible and portable equipment to complete their missions.

The SABRE 5000 utilizes Smiths Detection's proven ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) technology.

 

The detector is programmed to detect and identify over 40 hazardous substances within 20 seconds, including peroxides, ammonium nitrate, and volatile and unstable chemicals commonly used in improvised explosive devices.

 

Additional features include automatic calibration, which requires no consumables or associated special procedures, saving time and money; automatic device status polling with diagnostics for simple malfunctions; and a quick-clean function. A built-in library of detectable substances that can be expanded by the user.

 

With a 15-minute turnaround time and a weight of 3 kilograms (with a four-hour battery), the SABRE 5000 is a small but powerful ally in the war on terrorism and drug trafficking.
